The HCC is home to HCM's Central Offices, Senior Outreach Center, and IFAP Center and Food Pantry, and tenants Squallis Puppeteers, Louisville Country Dancers, Horizons Dance Theatre, Academy of Flamenco Arts, Schempp Realty, Cultivating the Youth Experience, Clements & Associates, and more.

Terms and Conditions

 
Click for the Rental Agreement form to be filled out by the renter and approved by the HCC Building Administrator.

The following 3 things are required to reserve the space and date:
  • Completed Lease Agreement
  • Booking deposit = 50% of the rental fee
  • $100 security deposit
The Booking Deposit is non-refundable within 90 days of the event date, i.e., cancellations must me made at least 90 days in advance of the event date to have the booking deposit refunded.  The balance of the rental fee is due 30 days before the event.  And event may be cancelled by the Highlands Community Campus if the balance due is not promptly received.

The $100 security deposit is required for potential damage to the facility, equipment, or furniture, or if a special cleaning is required afterwards.  Lease holders are responsible for furniture tear down and return to it's assigned place; sweeping up of spills; all food removed including out of the refrigerator and freezer; trash removal to the dumpster.  The 
$100 security deposit will be refunded if terms and conditions are met.  See Good Neighbor Policy for details on housekeeping.  Any damage to the building or property must be reported to the Building Attendant.

Other requirements of renter:
  • Driver's license or state-issued photo i.d. 
  • You must be at least 21 years old to lease space
Space requirements:
  • Tablecloths are required
  • Mylar balloons are prohibited - latex only
  • Glitter is prohibited
  • Decorations are not allowed to be taped, glued, or nailed to the walls, doors, windows, or ceiling.
  • Candles may be used but must be encased in glass
  • Rental hours of availability are 8:00 a.m. to midnight, which includes cleanup.  In other words, lights out and doors locked by midnight.
  • No smoking, weapons, or illegal drug use is allowed on the property.  Smoking is permitted outside in designated areas and all smoking materials must be distinguished and placed in appropriate receptacles.
  • For business and public events or any that charge admission, renters are required to provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance evidencing the group has at least $1,000,000 in liability coverage and naming Highlands Community Campus as an "Additional Insured".
Alcoholic Drinks:
  • If alcoholic beverages are to be served (not sold) at a private event, they must be served in accordance with local laws, only to adults 21 years of age and over, and never to anyone who appears to be intoxicated.  A caterer with a KY caterer's license is required if more than 50 adults are in attendance.
     
  • Alcohol may be sold on HCC campus by a caterer with a KY Caterer's License or other organization that has the appropriate liquor license(s) and a Certificate of Liability Insurance evidencing the group has at least $1,000,000 in liability coverage and naming Highlands Community Campus as an "Additional Insured".
     
  • Bring Your Own Alcohol (BYOB) by guests of the renter is not permitted.  
   
 
Supervision of Children:  
  • When usage of the HCC building or grounds includes the presence of children, the renter will be solely responsible for the supervision and safety of the children attending. Children must remain in the designated rented space.
     
  • The HCC is not partial to, nor is it recommended for parties specifically for children or teenagers.  Only special cases of events that include large numbers of children or teenagers will be considered and in such cases, there must be at least one adult chaperone (21 and over) for every 5 children present at the event at all times.  Names and contact information of chaperones will be required.
